AIE 2024 was a major success!
The 2024 golden jubilee African Insurance Exchange was, by all accounts, nothing short of sensational.
“AIE is one of our flagship projects at CN&CO, and this year we pulled out all the stops for the 50th anniversary celebration,” says Carel Nolte. “I am incredibly proud of the way we have all turned the event around in the past five years, since we started handling the event management together with the Insurance Institute of South Africa and the South African Insurance Association.”
This year’s conference attracted over 1 000 in-person delegates at Sun City, with dozens more attending online.
“It’s incredible to see how many people in the industry take up the opportunity to attend the AIE,” says Carel. “I have attended close to 20 insurance conferences and I can honestly say that it just keeps getting better. We have received excellent feedback from all quarters with regards to the speakers, the entertainment, the venue and the networking and I’d like to thank my colleague Llewellyn du Plessis and his teams for putting together such an amazing event.”
Carel says at the end of the day it’s all about the people.
“Our industry is made up of the most amazing people! Seeing so many fabulous humans gathered in one place was incredible! I especially love how the conference has become so much more diverse in terms of age, gender, race and occupation. We had insurers (intermediated and direct; life and non-life), brokers, service providers, industry organisations, regulators… the list goes on. But despite the diversity – or maybe because of it! – everyone was there with the same agenda: to learn, network and have fun. I think AIE 2024 ticked all those boxes and more.”
It was also great to see so many of CN&CO’s friends and clients at this year’s conference including SSP, Lombard, Elite, Centriq, IISA, FIA, Old Mutual, iTOO, CIB, EasyEquities, Crawford Dougall, Hollard and a whole lot more.
“It’s like putting on a big party for 1 000 of your best friends,” says Llewellyn, who heads up the events team that put the conference together. “It takes a lot of planning and coordination to get everything just so.
“I’d like to thank the whole team, from registration to catering to speaker management to entertainment, the photographers and videographers, sound technicians, staging specialists, lighting, livestreaming – everyone at the CN&CO, Urban Motion, Mulberry Marketing, Orange Orbit, Sun City and all our other service providers who really pulled together to create a magical event.
“I’d also like to thank our clients at the IISA and SAIA for being so amazing.”
And just a reminder: CN&CO Events puts on events of all sizes – from the 1000-people African Insurance Exchange to small executive events of three or four people – including monthly InsureTalk sessions.
“We can handle in-person, virtual and hybrid events, bringing a personal touch while remaining ultra-professional in all we do,” says Llewellyn.
