The Comrades Marathon Association (CMA) is excited to announce a celebration of all things Comrades with the 2025 Comrades Marathon Expo and the Comrades Marathon Museum, offering an exciting experience for runners, supporters and sports enthusiasts.
2025 Comrades Marathon Expo
Taking place at the Durban Exhibition Centre from 5–7 June 2025, the Comrades Marathon Expo promises an unmatched experience for all who attend, also serving as a pre-race registration point. Over three days, visitors will immerse themselves in a dynamic atmosphere featuring the latest in lifestyle, sports, health and nutrition.
Key highlights include:
- Race essentials: Official registration for the 2025 Comrades Marathon, race number collection, goodie bags and the sought-after race T-shirt.
- Exhibitor showcase: A diverse array of exhibitors offering cutting-edge products and services.
- Interactive experiences: Product sampling, interactive displays and networking opportunities with fellow athletes, coaches and supporters.
With over 50 000 visitors expected, the expo provides a fantastic platform for exhibitors and a unique opportunity for the running community to connect.
CMA chairperson Mqondisi Ngcobo underlines the expo’s importance.
“The Comrades Expo is an integral part of the Comrades Marathon experience,” he says. “It provides runners with essential tools for race day while supporting the spirit of camaraderie that defines our iconic race.”
Entrance is free, and the expo is open during the following hours:
• Thursday, 5 June: 10h00 – 19h00
• Friday, 6 June: 09h00 – 19h00
• Saturday, 7 June: 09h00 – 16h00

Comrades Marathon Museum
Located in Pietermaritzburg, the Comrades Marathon Museum offers an intimate glimpse into the rich heritage of the world’s oldest and largest ultramarathon. From original race medals and vintage gear to interactive multimedia exhibits, the museum brings to life the spirit and stories of The Ultimate Human Race.

Notable features include:
- Historic artefacts, trophies and iconic race moments.
- Tributes to legendary runners, including winners, record holders and Green Number greats.
- Multimedia exhibits showcasing the evolution of the race and personal stories of determination and triumph.
- Educational opportunities for school groups, inspiring future generations with lessons of perseverance and achievement.
CMA Chairperson Mqondisi Ngcobo describes the museum as “a testament to the incredible history and legacy of this iconic race. We invite everyone to visit and be inspired by the remarkable achievements of those who have taken on the ultimate human challenge.”
The museum, located at 18 Comrades Road, Scottsville, Pietermaritzburg, is open Monday to Friday from 08h30 to 16h00. Admission is free.
