CN&CO Recruit partners with APPS

CN&CO Recruit has been appointed as the search partner to Auckland Park Preparatory School (affectionately known as APPS) who are wanting to appoint a new Head.

APPS is a private, Johannesburg based, English medium, girls’ primary school established in 1921. It offers a nurturing environment to enable its pupils to achieve their full potential and supports a caring, Christian ethos. The current school strength of 262 pupils includes the ethnic, cultural, religious and social diversities of South Africa..

Applicants for the head position need to be experienced and passionate leaders within the education sector with the necessary academic qualifications. They will be required to have outstanding people skills to interface with all school stakeholders, strong financial acumen, the latest relevant IT knowledge and be willing to embrace the academic, sporting, cultural milieu of a proud school. The ability to  curate and execute innovative ideas and a capacity to adopt the latest teaching trends linked to STEAM initiatives will be a must. Be a strong, robust, resilient person with the ability to lead through the current educational climate. Continue to drive the transformational trajectory of the school.

The successful candidate will be a dynamic person of integrity and vision who:

  • has previous leadership and management experience.
  • has solid interpersonal skills with an emphasis on maintaining the strong rapport with parents, pupils, and staff.
  • will show commitment to promote and lead a very high standard of education.
  • can understand, identify with, and contribute to the Christian Ethos and values of the school.
  • is able to develop and sustain new ideas and work co-operatively with a team of teachers.
  • will maintain a healthy balance between academics, cultural, sport and wellness.
  • has the requisite academic and professional qualifications and a SACE Registration Certificate, as well as excellent English communication skills.
  • demonstrates a passion for education.
  • is in possession of a clearance certificate in terms of the Sexual Offenders Act.
