Backing a rising South African sports star: Kavish Ramdin

At CN&CO, we love shining a spotlight on South African talent – and few young athletes shine as brightly as Kavish Ramdin. A dedicated fencer specialising in both Foil and Epee, Kavish is a rising star on the local and international fencing scene.

We know Kavish through his uncle, Yatinne, who many of us worked with back in the day at Etana Insurance. It’s been inspiring to watch Kavish’s journey unfold.

Kavish started fencing at the age of 10 and has already represented South Africa at a continental level. In 2025, he’ll be competing in both the Cadet and Junior African Championships in Angola and the World Championships in Wuxi, China – huge milestones on his journey to becoming one of the world’s top foilists and ultimately representing South Africa at the Olympics.

To get there, though, he needs support. The 2025 season comes with a price tag close to R300 000 (around $15 500), covering travel, coaching, competition fees and other associated costs. Longer-term, a sustainable investment into his journey – covering competition exposure, training, equipment and support staff – would be invaluable as he works toward qualifying for the 2032 Olympic Games.

Sponsorship benefits include brand exposure on Kavish’s gear and at events, social media visibility and a powerful CSI and marketing narrative that links your brand with ambition, resilience and national pride.

If you’d like to get involved and help a young South African athlete realise his dreams while boosting your brand in the process, please reach out to Beena Ramdin at beenaramdin@gmail.com or on 071 491 4205.
