Stuart Scanlon talks resilience, data and ERP on Business Tech Africa

Africa isn’t for the faint-hearted, but it’s full of opportunity for those who know how to navigate it. That’s one of the key takeouts from Stuart Scanlon’s recent interview with journalist Greg Stewart on Business Tech Africa.

Stuart is the managing director of epic ERP – a business we work with closely at CN&CO – and he’s someone who’s seen first-hand what it takes to do smart, sustainable business across the continent. In the podcast, he shares insights on the role of ERP systems in helping businesses manage complexity, track costs and grow efficiently, especially in sectors like manufacturing and logistics.

“The real value is in the data,” says Stuart. “Features are no longer the differentiator. What matters is what information you can extract from your system and how you use it to drive decisions.”

Stuart also delves into the resilience of African businesses, the evolution of supply chains and how regulatory complexity can be tackled with the right tech stack. It’s a fascinating listen for anyone with an interest in enterprise systems, African markets or simply good business thinking.

CN&CO’s Stella Carter, who helped arrange the interview, says it’s part of a broader effort to support clients in amplifying their thought leadership.

“We’re passionate about helping our clients get their brands and their names out into the media – whether it’s a podcast, a publication or a panel discussion. Great content deserves great platforms,” she says.
