Get ready for InsureTalk 2026!

Since 2020, in the heart of the pandemic, InsureTalk has been bringing information, opinion, entertainment and CPD hours to audiences of insurance professionals in South Africa and abroad.

Opening the InsureTalk Live session at Melrose Arch in Johannesburg recently, Llewellyn du Plessis, head of CN&CO Events, reminded guests why this event means so much to the South African insurance community.

Llewellyn began by taking the audience back to the origin story – a simple idea sparked during lockdown, created as a way to keep the industry connected while the world stood still.

“No one imagined that a once-off virtual session would grow into one of the most recognised platforms in the sector,” he said. “Yet here we are, years later, with 58 online sessions behind us, a registration pool of more than five thousand people, over 300 CPD-accredited presentations delivered and more than 250 speakers who have shared their insight and expertise with the community.”

What makes this achievement remarkable is that it has never been about scale for its own sake.

“The success of InsureTalk rests on relationships: the partners who back the platform, the speakers who give their time, the delegates who log in and attend in person and the wider community who keep the conversations alive long after the sessions end,” he said. “For me (and for all of us at CN&CO, in fact) InsureTalk is proof that when great people and great ideas come together consistently, magic happens.”

It’s a simple line, but it captures the heart of this series.

“At its best, InsureTalk is a space where learning, connection and curiosity meet,” said Llewellyn. “It brings new voices to the stage, gives familiar voices fresh room to stretch and keeps the industry honest, engaged and evolving.”

InsureTalk Live 2025 carried that spirit forward. From the early morning conversations over coffee to the packed auditorium and the lively exchanges between sessions, you could feel the community that has grown around this platform. Llewellyn’s opening was a celebration of that journey and a nod to the people who made it possible.

The magic Llewellyn spoke about was alive and well at Melrose Arch, and we look forward to presenting the 2026 season of InsureTalk to the insurance community starting in February next year.
