Running round the Sparkys block for Pink Drive
CN&CO’s latest annual charity fun run took on a different form this time round… but it was enjoyed just as much by all who attended.
The run took place at the brand new Sparkys in Waterfall, doubling as a soft launch for the new burger joint – the fourth in the franchise. More than 50 people were there, including friends and partners from iTOO, Mulberry Marketing, Lombard, Consort Technical Underwriting, EasyEquities and Chubb. Participants drank a few slugs of beer every time they made it around the 1km lap that started and ended at Sparkys.
All proceeds raised went to Pink Drive, who, having just arrived back from the Midmar Mile, put up a big, pink gazebo at the venue and gave a live breast exam demonstration. CN&CO recently put out a call for assistance to help Pink Drive cover the cost of a recent intervention at Tygerberg Hospital and it was great to be able to support them.
The weather was threatening all day, but it was only after everyone had enjoyed their laps, followed by Sparkys burger and chips (best in Joburg, by the way), that the heavens opened and brought relief from the intense Highveld heat.
Big thanks to Sparkys and EasyEquities for their food and drink sponsorships.
Here are a few snaps from the day:
