Llewellyn

I’m at The Galleria in Sandton prepping for tonight’s IIG Inaugural Celebration, where the new IIG president, Jabu Mtimkulu, and her council will be inducted. It’s an exclusive, high-end, black-tie dinner where the cream of Gauteng’s insurance industry will gather to celebrate the start of the year for the institute.

The “black and white” theme promises to deliver some striking fashion moments, a touch of old-school elegance and plenty of opportunity for industry friends and colleagues to reconnect as summer draws to a close.

Colin

It’s an overcast, rainy day in Joburg (which is still, imho, the best place to be). I’m at my desk working on a few articles for a new client, HBX. It’s very niche content, targeted at hoteliers, with a strong emphasis on SEO. Here’s an example of one of the pieces I did last month.

Happily, my dogs are draped over my feet, keeping them nice and warm.

And when the working day is done, I plan to read furiously to see if I can finish my current book before book club tonight. I’m reading The Emperor of Gladness ↙️ by Ocean Vuong. It’s a beautifully written book – a little bit gloomy, like today’s weather, but I am holding out that it will end with at least a spark of hope.

Apart from learning to take selfies in the mirror, I am at home working – sourcing candidates for various roles across the industry. Perfect weather for an admin day. And I’m wearing one of my favourite dresses ↗️, so feeling very cheerful.

I am in my weekly brand and marketing meeting with Lombard, also looking out over the grey Jozi skies. We are busy making plans for some exciting marketing initiatives over the next few months. Keep an eye out…

Early morning start with a run on the promenade in Umhlanga to get the juices flowing. ↗️

I’m in KZN for the rest to the week for Gage market visits, and spending the weekend to surprise my brother for his birthday.

Good to be back in one of my three hometowns where I have lived!

I’m up in Joburg for my (at least) week-a-month visit. Lots of exciting EasyEquities events with the team and our partners.

I’m especially excited to be participating in the JPMorganChase Corporate Challenge this evening at the Wanderers with Team Easy.

As usual I will use my time in Joburg to catch up with work mates, bridge mates, book club and close friends. Jozi rocks 🙂.
