Prestige, Purpose and Passing the Baton: IIG Inaugural Dinner 2026

By Llewellyn du Plessis

On 12 March 2026, the The Galleria Conference Centre played host to one of the key moments on the Insurance Institute of Gauteng’s calendar, the annual Inaugural Dinner. It was an evening that brought together industry leaders, colleagues, and friends to celebrate, connect, and mark an important leadership transition.

For CN&CO Events, this event always holds a special place. Having worked alongside the IIG over the past few years, it’s incredibly rewarding to see the community come together in such a meaningful way, and even more so when we’re surrounded by familiar faces, clients, and long-standing industry partners.

The highlight of the evening was the official presidential handover. We said goodbye to Wilmine Prinsloo, who has led with passion, professionalism, and a clear commitment to the industry. At the same time, we welcomed Jabulile Mtimkulu as the new President for 2026. Her energy and vision set the tone for what promises to be an exciting year ahead for the IIG.

This year’s Black & White Chess theme added a strong visual and symbolic element to the evening. It reflected the nature of the insurance industry itself, strategic, thoughtful, and always a few steps ahead. The space felt elegant and intentional, creating the perfect setting for both celebration and reflection.

What stood out most, though, was the sense of connection in the room. Events like these go beyond formalities. They create space for real conversations, for strengthening relationships, and for aligning around a shared future for the industry.

We are incredibly proud to continue supporting the IIG and to play a role in delivering events like this. It’s a partnership built on trust and a shared commitment to excellence, and each year it continues to grow stronger.

As we look ahead, we’re excited to work closely with Jabu and the IIG team throughout 2026. If this evening is anything to go by, the year ahead is set to be one of impact, growth, and meaningful engagement across the industry.

Here’s to another great year of collaboration, connection, and unforgettable moments.
