At CN&CO, we believe the best events do more than fill a calendar slot. They bring people closer to the ideas, businesses and conversations that matter.

That was exactly the spirit behind the inaugural EasyEquities Junior Mining Showcase, which the CN&CO Events team recently hosted from Create @ Studio17 at Workshop17 Kloof Street in Cape Town.

More than 3 000 members of the EasyEquities community registered for the webinar. That is a remarkable response – and a clear sign that South Africans are hungry for investment education that is accessible, engaging and rooted in real conversation.

The showcase connected investors with the people leading some of the most interesting junior mining companies on the market. Johan Odendaal, Managing Director of Southern Palladium; Tony Lennox, Managing Director and CEO of Orion Minerals; and David Hathorn, Chairman of Kore Potash, joined respected financial journalist Giulietta Talevi for a frank and insightful discussion.

Giulietta asked the questions investors want answered. The conversation explored funding, regulation, commodity cycles, community relationships, project development and the long road from exploration to production. Junior mining is not always simple – but it is important, fascinating and full of possibility when the right people are in the room.

CN&CO founder Carel Nolte, who is also chief enablement officer at EasyEquities, opened the event by speaking to something central to the EasyEquities philosophy: access to investing is about more than giving people a platform to trade. It is about giving them access to information, ideas and the leaders behind the businesses in which they may choose to invest.

You could feel that purpose throughout the webinar. The EasyEquities community brought thoughtful questions, shared their own experiences and kept the discussion moving. Feedback included “very informative”, “insightful and thought-provoking” and – our personal favourite – “more of these please”.

One participant thanked EasyEquities for “bringing junior mining so close to us and helping us understand it better”. That captures the purpose of the showcase perfectly.

For us at CN&CO Events, it was a real privilege to bring together respected industry voices, an engaged online community and a professional broadcast environment. The event showed how thoughtfully produced digital experiences can make complex subjects feel more accessible while creating meaningful connections between business leaders and investors.
