Putting Your Money Where the Fight Is

At CN&CO, we have a slightly unconventional approach to maths.

We believe 1 + 1 = 11.

It’s not really about numbers. It’s about what happens when the right people, ideas, brands and relationships come together. The result can be so much bigger than what you started with.

And August has given us one of those moments.

At first glance, investing, boxing, women’s empowerment and fitness might not have much in common.

But somehow, they do.

We’ve been big supporters of EasyEquities for a long time. Not just because we like the business, but because many people in and around CN&CO actually use the platform themselves.

One of the initiatives we particularly love is Donate for Good. It’s a wonderfully simple idea, giving investors the opportunity to support causes that matter, and let lots of small contributions come together to create something meaningful.

This month, Donate for Good is supporting Fighters Club for Women’s Month.

Fighters Club has made a name for itself by championing women’s boxing, but its work goes beyond the ring. Through its Fight & Feed initiative, boxing becomes a vehicle for education, mentorship, financial literacy, personal development and creating better opportunities for young people.

And then there’s CResults.

Last week, close friends of CN&CO, CResults Fitness Boxing, announced the opening of their first gym in the Western Cape.

Okay, technically it’s in Stellenbosch. But we’re happy to claim it as a Cape Town win.

Quite a few of the CN&CO team train at CResults’ Johannesburg facilities when we’re up north, so having them a little closer to home is genuinely exciting.

And suddenly, things that once felt quite separate start getting closer together.

Boxing and investing.

Fitness and friendships.

Business and community.

Women’s Month and financial literacy.

It’s a good reminder that people aren’t neatly divided into categories. We have different interests, passions, communities and causes that overlap in ways we sometimes don’t even realise.

That’s also what we love about good partnerships.

The best ones don’t always make obvious sense from the outside. They work because there is a genuine connection between the people involved and because each side brings something valuable to the table.

It’s why we’ve always believed you don’t necessarily need the biggest marketing budget to make an impact.

Sometimes you just need the right people and a shared belief.

So this August, we’re getting behind EasyEquities and Fighters Club.
