Run, read, wander: join us at Velddraf met Woorde

At CN&CO, we’re always looking for experiences that bring good people together. Sometimes that’s around a conference table. Sometimes it’s over a glass of wine. And sometimes it’s on a trail through one of South Africa’s most beautiful towns.

This October we’ll be lacing up our running shoes for Velddraf met Woorde, one of the many unique experiences on offer at the Toyota Stellenbosch University Woordfees, and we’d love you to join us.

Our own Carel Nolte, Blake Dyason and Rikus Kok will be taking part, alongside runners, walkers and lovers of the outdoors who understand that great conversations often happen away from the office.

The Toyota Stellenbosch University Woordfees has long been one of South Africa’s premier celebrations of Afrikaans language, literature and culture. But it’s also much more than that. Every year the festival transforms Stellenbosch into a vibrant meeting place where books, music, theatre, food, wine, ideas and adventure all come together.

Velddraf met Woorde perfectly captures that spirit.

“It’s not simply about covering kilometres,” says CN&CO founder Carel Nolte. “It’s about slowing down enough to appreciate the landscape, enjoying good company and discovering that exercise and storytelling make surprisingly good partners.

“As proud supporters of the event, both CN&CO and EasyEquities are delighted to be involved in a festival that celebrates curiosity, creativity and community. Those are values that resonate deeply with us, and they’re reflected across a programme that offers something for just about everyone.”

Perhaps you’ll start your day with a trail run before joining one of the architectural or historical walking tours. Maybe you’ll book a place at a wine masterclass exploring Chenin Blanc, Pinotage or sparkling wines. Food lovers can enjoy experiences with acclaimed chefs, while others may prefer meditation in the Dylan Lewis Sculpture Garden, fashion, soap-making workshops or one of the many conversations celebrating books, ideas and the Afrikaans language.

The festival also features favourites such as the Woordfees Straatsoirée, Langtafel dining experience, wine dinners, walking tours through Stellenbosch and Idasvallei, and a host of cultural experiences that showcase everything that makes the town such a special destination.

Whether you’re an experienced trail runner or simply looking for a memorable weekend in the Cape Winelands, Velddraf met Woorde is a wonderful way to become part of the Woordfees experience.

We’ll see you at the start line.
