Save the date: 18 April – FIA/Cover Broking Summit 2016
We’ll be the first to say it: we love a good event. And more so when there’s an educational and insightful element to it. That said, we were pretty pleased to hear about a full-day Short-Term Insurance Broking Summit taking place on 18 April 2016 at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg. The Financial Intermediaries Association of South Africa (FIA) and COVER Publications are teaming up to host this summit.
The theme of the event is “Broker – Innovator – Disruptor” and will focus on the changing environment that short-term insurance brokers operate in; the role of the broker in insurance product innovation; and the need for brokers to be disruptive to ensure the growth of their practices within the broader insurance sector.
Confirmed speakers (so far) include:
- Adrian Gore – CEO, Discovery
- Gideon Galloway – CEO, King Price
- Luke McKend – CEO, Google South Africa
- Paolo Cavalieri
There will also be panel discussions about the future of the intermediated distribution channel with CEOs and top-level executives at Alexander Forbes, Discovery Insure, Hollard, Mutual & Federal, MMI, Oakhurst, Santam and Zurich, to name a few.
CN&CO’s Carel Nolte will be the MC for the summit, and team CN&CO will be joining in on what looks to be an interesting day!
There will also be six leading women in insurance who will participate in a panel discussion on the challenges and opportunities women face in the short-term broking environment. They will discuss how they rose to their current leadership roles and expand on the value of mentorship – which is a vital topic.
The full programme and more information about costs and bookings will be released mid-January 2016.
Be sure to save the date – 18 April 2016 – in the meantime.
