Oktoberfest 2016 with Willis Re

Dirndl and beers combo!

It’s that time of year again where we experience the festivities of the German “bierfest” culture. On Thursday evening, 15 September, our client Willis Re hosted an evening at the opening night of the Oktoberfest Bierfest at the Deutsche Internationale Schule in Pretoria. The CN&CO team assisted Willis in hosting the event and together with a superb mix of people we enjoyed a brilliant night of music, food, dancing and beer.

CEO of Willis Re Natalie van de Coolwijk, identified the Corporate Oktoberfest as an ideal opportunity for her team to enjoy time with their clients in a different and entertaining manner.  Having experienced the festival many times before (the Deutsche Schule is her alma mater) Natalie expressed her love of the event for its culture and festive nature – especially since it brings people together to celebrate and embrace a vibrant culture and tradition.

At CN&CO we’re all about trying new things, especially when they link to people and their passions. Assisting the Willis team organise the event for their clients was a great experience for us an.

Henrico (Willis) gets into the bierfest spirit with Raymond Rey (Leppard), Renata Scriba (Lombard), and Frank Knight (Debtsource)

Guests included some familiar faces who we are also fortunate to call clients including Leppard, Hollard, Lombard and ITOO: another reason why we love the insurance industry. Its people, energy and opportunities to connect and share a wide of experiences never ceases to amaze.

From the moment we arrived at the festival the detail of the event was spectacular. A genuine oompah German band (Die Frankenräuber), traditional lederhosen and dirndls, delicious eisbien and of course ‘bier’ – lots of it! Add to that Natalie’s surprisingly fluent German and it was indeed a memorable experience for all. Thank you to Natalie and her team for including us in the evening and we hope to see you there next year!
