Riversands Incubation Hub hosts fundEX 2016

Riversands Incubation Hub is a business hub that nurtures and develops black-owned SMEs and entrepreneurs. Currently it is home to over 120 businesses and has a target of 150 by the end of the year. The Hub aims to create, support and develop economic and business opportunities in a bid to improve the economy and eradicate unemployment in the country.

Riversands Incubation Hub in partnership with the National Empowerment Fund (NEF) is set to host its inaugural fundEX event at Riversands on Wednesday 16 November 2016.

When: 08h30 to 19h00 | Where: Riversands Incubation Hub | Tickets available online for R150

The one-day conference and expo will showcase a wide spectrum of funders and investment providers with the aim of exposing entrepreneurs to the many funding and personal wealth creation opportunities available.

“Many entrepreneurs find accessing funding difficult, while funders, in turn, complain about the lack of fundable businesses available. This event aims to bridge this disconnect by giving ‘beyond the brochure’ insights into how banks, government funders and investors evaluate a business. We will also highlight some of the innovative funding mechanisms which are now available for entrepreneurs,” says Jenny Retief, CEO of Riversands Incubation Hub.

What to expect from fundEX:

The expo will feature an investment and savings programme to showcase accessible investment opportunities available with advice from credible financial professionals. This includes evaluating BEE share schemes, investing on the stock market and selecting the right financial advisors. “It is important for entrepreneurs to diversify their wealth and income beyond their businesses, says Retief.

The one-day conference is open to the public.
