Wine lovers – here’s an event you can’t afford to miss

On Sunday, 12 March 2017 our friends at Great Domaines will be hosting Cyrielle Rousseau of Domaine Armand Rousseau at two events in Johannesburg.

“Domaine Armand Rousseau is seriously one of the greatest domaines in Burgundy,” says Derek Kilpin of Great Domaines. “It is spoken about in the same league as Domaine de la Romanee-Conti, which is the rarest and most expensive red wine in the world.

“Although we have been importing their wines since the 1999 vintage, the family has never been out to South Africa before, so it’s very exciting for us, and for local wine connoisseurs.”

At each event Cyrielle will present wines from the much-anticipated 2014 vintage. Following this guided tasting, a mix of older vintages will be enjoyed with a meal carefully created by the chef at each of the venues (Saxon for lunch and Marble for dinner).

“This is a great opportunity for the wine lover that wants to taste some of the finest Pinot Noir on the planet, as presented by one of the owners,” says Derek.
