IISA/INSETA executive management development programme
The Insurance Institute of South Africa (IISA) has partnered with the Insurance Sector Education and Training Authority (INSETA) to host an executive management development programme. The programme will be delivered by the African Leadership University (ALU) and it is designed for senior managers as well as executive managers in the insurance industry.
This programme is aimed at nurturing and elevating business and leadership skills. It will also assist managers in keeping abreast of developing technologies and business strategies. Through this programme the IISA and INSETA aim to create a pool of skilled executive managers thereby assisting the industry in mitigating the risk of shortage of skills at executive management level.
Through the AL Group’s research-based, leadership transformation model, the programme is uniquely designed to transform managers into high impact leaders.
Overview
The six–month programme focuses on four leadership competencies:
Dates and Format
12 days of in-person intensives at the ALX Lab in Johannesburg. The programme is due to commence in September 2019, with two sessions, and then every month thereafter for a total of six sessions of two days each.
CPD hours
The programme will contribute towards continuing professional development and will be awarded CPD hours.
Criteria
Candidates must have five to eight years’ work experience in the financial services sector, with at least three to five years at senior or executive management level.

- Detailed profile with work history
- 1-page motivation to be admitted to the programme
- Copy of certified identity document
- Reference letter from manager
The programme will commence in September 2019.
Closing date for applications: 23 August 2019. No late applications will be accepted.
Cost
The value of the programme is R98 000 per candidate, however due to the investment from INSETA we are able to deliver the programme at a discounted rate:
Members: R 49 000 (VAT Excl.)
Non-Members: R55 000 (VAT Excl.)
