My Career in Insurance helping to build young leaders

My Career in Insurance, a non-profit company that boosts the prospects of insurance professionals through career awareness and experiential learning, has announced that its EMPLOYABILITY programme for 2023 is fully subscribed.

“EMPLOYABILITY is a learning programme designed to furnish junior employees and unemployed graduates with essential skills to help them navigate their work-life balance, achieve personal and professional development goals, acquire leadership skills and grow in confidence, whilst working in non-life insurance workplaces,” says My Career in Insurance NPC founder, Gay-Lynn Rheeders.

The programme, which runs from March to November this year, is a collaboration of skilled professionals in relevant fields, and focuses on a wide range of content, including:

  • Insurance subject lectures by university lecturers covering commercial and personal lines, with Class Of Business certification
  • Regulatory Exam training
  • Various types of coaching for personal growth and development
  • Personal finance skills
  • Blended working skills
  • Presentation skills
  • Business communication
  • Career showcase
  • Entrepreneur showcase

The programme is all online / remote, with most of it being in the form of live sessions. The showcase aspects take the form of storytelling, with industry professionals sharing their own experiences to inspire and encourage.

“We’ve taken a ‘whole-person’ approach, covering both personal and professional development, in partnership with small businesses,” says Gay-Lynn. “The programme is fully sponsored, taking the financial burden of training and development away from the small business or individual.”

It’s great to see our friends at EasyEquities have come on board. They will be running the personal finance classes, and have also sponsored vouchers for all participants.
