#AIE2023 was a massive hit for all who attended

The 2023 African Insurance Exchange was a resounding success! The conference, which was hosted by the Insurance Institute of South Africa and the South African Insurance Association, took place at Sun City from 23 to 26 July. The business sessions were also broadcast via weblink on 24 and 25 July.

CN&CO Events did a sensational job of organising the conference, with the indispensable assistance of Urban Motion and Mulberry Marketing. Around 900 delegates attended in person, with a further 100-or-so following the conference online.

It was a festival of friendship and learning as the insurance industry came together for the 49th time to celebrate success and share knowledge in a beautiful setting. CN&CO had friends and clients (past and present) from many organisations at the event, including Ami, Centriq, CIB, Gallagher Re, Global Choices, IISA, Lombard, OMI, Premium Finance Partners, Santam and SSP.

Five of our own team members were there: Carel Nolte, Kurt Solomon, Blake Dyason, Llewellyn du Plessis and Colin Ford. Here’s what they had to say about the conference:

Carel: “It seems unreal, but his was my 20th conference! Each year is different and each year I learn something new. This year’s conference was particularly good as we saw numbers reverting to their pre-Covid levels. I was also honoured to represent a number of companies, including EasyEquities, Ami, CN&CO and Crawford Dougall. Looking forward to next year’s 50th conference!”

Kurt: “The AIE conference is always a highlight and something I look forward to. Gaining valuable knowledge from the sessions, understanding market trends and intel, and of course building and growing relationships is a highlight. This year didn’t disappoint. Congrats to the IISA, their partners and of course the CN&CO team for organising a successful 2023 AIE Conference. Heard many compliments throughout. See you in 2024!”

Blake: “I thoroughly enjoyed the #AIE2023 Conference. As always it’s great to reconnect with old friends and clients but this year was more diverse, we had lots of new faces, the conference was set up to encourage networking and the app made it easy to connect and set up meetings. For me the conference was a great opportunity to connect and collaborate.”

Llewellyn: “It’s a privilege to head up the team that organises the African Insurance Exchange. This year’s event was a massive success. We have had really positive feedback from delegates, sponsors, exhibitors and the conference hosts, which is awesome. We look forward to organising next year’s event… which we’ve already started on! Colin: “It was amazing to see so many familiar faces at conference this year. It’s only when you attend an event like this that you realise how extensive your network is! I was happy to re-unite with old friends and make a few new ones. Looking forward to doing it all again in 2024!”
