TED Talk Tuesday #282 – Exploring entrepreneurship

TED continues to spread ideas and help us all be better critical thinkers. Watching, listening and talking about TED Talks is a popular pastime for many in the CN&CO community. We visit TED.com regularly to clear our heads, have a laugh, learn or get inspired. TED Talks open our minds, spark new ways of thinking and can lead to some very interesting conversations and business opportunities. Each week we pick a favourite and publish it on a Tuesday, because we like how “TED Talk Tuesday” sounds. It’s also a way that the CN&CO team play their part in spreading ideas and helping to make the world a better place.

This TED Talk was chosen by Gianluca Tucci.

It’s a bit weird thinking of myself as an entrepreneur, but I guess I have been immersed in the entrepreneurial space for at least 8½ years since I joined CN&CO. Now, as I embark on a new journey to start my own business, I’m delving even deeper into what it takes to succeed in this dynamic field.

One of the resources that has given me lots to think about is a TED Talk by Amy Wilkinson, an author, Stanford lecturer, and CEO of Ingenuity. In her talk, she explores the essential skills that form the basis of entrepreneurial success, drawing from her extensive research and interviews with 200 top entrepreneurs, including visionaries like the founders of Airbnb, LinkedIn and SpaceX.

What fascinates me most about Amy’s work is her focus on how leaders must adapt and reinvent their approaches to thrive in an entrepreneurial age. She encourages building teams of diverse of thinkers who can challenge each other and drive success.

Through her research, conducted as a senior fellow at Harvard University and a public policy scholar at the Woodrow Wilson Center, Amy uncovers the key insights needed to navigate the rapidly changing landscape of entrepreneurship.

Gianluca brings a touch of Italian flair to everything he does. His eye for detail, superior organisational skills and rare ability to nag relentlessly (in the nicest possible way) help to keep the team on track and on target. Say good things to him about Juventus and you’ll have a friend for life.
