The Ink Link: Accepting the ink so you can make the link…

The Ink Link is an ongoing project at CN&CO that showcases the diversity of tattoos. One of the great things about a tattoo is that it goes against the commonly-held viewpoint that “what you see is what you get”. There’s a misguided belief in certain quarters that only “some” people get a tattoo. We are putting paid to that perception through the stories showcased in the Ink Link. If you or anyone you know would like to be featured, please get in contact with us.

This instalment of The Ink Link is by Llewellyn du Plessis.

I must be honest, I don’t have a tattoo myself yet, but I hope to get my first one soon. I know so many extraordinary people who have the most amazing tattoos and I always love to ask them the story behind some of their artworks.

When I thought of who to feature on this blog, I realised how there is still a stigma around tattoos and a how most people in society still look at tattoos. I found this really cool TED Talk on “Tattoo Acceptance: Understanding Identity and Personal Expression”.

If you don’t like tattoos, I hope that this changes your perspective on people with body art. This will allow you to open up to more meaningful connections, new experiences and certainly some great stories!
