Ndlovu Youth Choir and Ed Sheeran's shape of you

Help our favourite choir to win the Anthem Project

Our South African national anthem, Nkosi Sikelel’ iAfrika, was named the best national anthem in the world by The Economist at the end of 2018.

In celebration of this, the Anthem Project was launched. The project was created by News24.com in partnership with OUTsurance. It’s an initiative to “unite the nation through song”.

The Anthem Project received over 140 submissions. The project team described how “each video captured what makes this country so great – its people.”  They also thanked all South Africans for their involvement, “whether you submitted a video yourself, shared the spirit on social media or simply casted a vote, thank you for playing your part in uniting our nation through song.”

The entries officially closed on the 19th of April and three finalists were announced today. We are ecstatic to see our partner, the Ndlovu Youth Choir listed as one of the finalists alongside Michael House and the Genesis Trust.

We need you to help us and vote for The Ndlovu Youth Choir’s version of the Anthem as your favourite, so that they can get the chance to donate a share of R1 million to their charity of choice!

Cast your vote here and remember to share it to gain extra votes for the choir.
