Podcasts and thinking. Just being out there.

Podcasts: Step back and process things

Mental models, frameworks, systems, and learning fascinate me.

This week I have attempted to be as succinct as I can be in the number of words that I use to describe some of the things that I have been thinking about.

As the world around us continues to evolve, systems change and the speed of change increases. While change may be accelerating, we should remain vigilant (arguably now more than ever) of how we are spending our time.

Allocating ourselves time and space to unpack the things that we are exposed to is crucial to our learning. If we don’t consciously allocate this space, we run the risk of being caught up in the bigger system and not benefitting from the experiences that we have.

Don’t underestimate the importance of taking a step back to process things. Learning from a systems feedback and the bigger narrative is a key part of our development. In doing this, we can full apply our mind to what the future holds.

We can all learn a lot from designers in this regards and this talk from Freyja Sewell on “The evolution of meditation tech”, show cases the power of technology to help us analyse what is actually going on in our brains during different experiences.

Two podcast that you may enjoy – discussing the attention economy and the evolution of cloud computing.

A few interesting reads worth your time
