#AIE2022 a resounding success

It’s a wrap! AIE2022 was a tremendous success. The conference attracted more than 800 attendees, both in person and virtually, and the two days were filled with great insights from various experts and industry leaders.

“It was a great opportunity for the industry to catch up, make new connections and gain new insights,” says IISA CEO, Thokozile Mahlangu.

We were honoured to host the governor of the SA Reserve Bank and other experts who discussed the future of insurance, the intermediary of tomorrow, optimising the use of data, health as an economic issue, regulation, climate change, the future of underwriting, the changing world of work, cyber risk management, erosion of social cohesion and insurance’s role in economic growth. The sessions were of an interactive nature and delegates benefited from great insights and robust discussions.

At the Gala dinner, we welcomed Collin Molepe, the new President of the IISA, and also recognised excellence through the awarding of the Top Achiever Academic Awards. Sponsors were also given awards for their support of the #AIE2022. The evening was concluded in song and dance by South Africa’s top musical talent, Mafikizolo.

“We would like to extend our gratitude to all delegates who attended online and in person, speakers, sponsors, exhibitors and our crew who made it all possible,” says Thokozile. “It was indeed an extraordinary experience to connect again in a live environment.

“Let’s do this again next year at AIE 2023, from 23 to 26 July.”
